Network and Systems Administrator

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for the installation, design and management of networks, internal and external, for use of the company. To keep all networks at full functionality and scoping for future growth. Telephone PABX maintenance, new installations and user support on these systems will also be a responsibility. Working in a team to provide service to our clients. Responsible for firewall maintenance.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • ·         Maintenance of data lines and connectivity
  • ·         Capacity building
  • ·         Maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • ·         Maintenance and control of E-mails and internet connectivity.
  • ·         PABX related maintenance as well as telephone installations.
  • ·         Firewall configuration and maintenance.
  • ·         Reporting on systems.
  • ·         Providing support to the support team to complete their duties.
  • ·         Supporting local and remote users.
  • ·         Granting of access to system and network resources.
  • ·         Maintain software running on clients PC
  • ·         Installing and upgrading hardware and software.
  • ·         Ensure high level of performance and ensure compliance to company standards and procedures.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
  • ·         A+ and N+ or equivalent experience.
  • ·         At least seven (7) years experience in Network Design.
  • ·         Computer literate with an excellent mastering of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ·         Must be able to communicate well in English and Afrikaans, a third language will be an added advantage.
  • ·         Unix/Linux experience.
  • ·         PABX system experience and qualifications.
  • ·         Relevant qualification on Network Technologies.
  • ·         Customer service experience would be an added advantage.
  • ·         Must be willing to travel extensively.
  • ·         Valid driver’s license and valid Namibian citizenship / eligible to obtain a work permit.
