Packaging Operator
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above vacancy within SABMiller Namibia. The position will be based in Okahandja.
PURPOSE
The primary role of the Packaging Operator is the safe operation of the complex integrated process areas in Packaging (for example certain filling and labelling process areas and certain tertiary packaging process area), the execution of maintenance tasks, quality control checks and analyses; and the coaching of fellow team members to produce a consistent product of the right quality at optimum cost.

KEY OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Operating the packaging process area according to the work instructions, supporting the plant control system and verifying that process control is being maintained:
• Assure quality of raw materials by monitoring conformance to Company and Regional Standards and any deviations corrected (incl. anti-taint procedure)
• Preparing plant for start-up by ensuring Brand and process changes correctly identified, all inputs are available including utilities, documentation and verified and calibrated equipment is available and plant is visually inspected for availability to produce and set up in accordance with WI’s
• Do maintenance on the line as required
• Ensure proper house - keeping and hygiene standards are adhered to and achieved
• Attendance of all Safety meetings
• Adherence of Health and Safety Regulations & SHE Policy

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Must be a qualified Artisan (N3 or higher)
• Computer Literacy
• Knowledge of SYSPRO/IBIS advantageous
• Prepared to work overtime and shifts
