Vacancy: Instrumentation Technician - Ohorongo Cement,
Sargberg Plant, Otavi - Namibia
Ohorongo Cement is operating a world class cement factory
near Otavi in Northern Namibia. This is the most modern plant in Africa and
proudly Namibian. To ensure the continued excellence of this new cement plant,
we are looking for highly motivated employees who will contribute in different
positions with their individual skills to the success of the plant.
Reporting to the Automation Manager, the incumbent will be
responsible for the availability and functionality of the plant instrumentation
setup (e.g. pressure transmitters, temperature probes, vibration and drive
monitoring probes, emission monitoring, flow meters, HMI panels and remote I/O boxes.
The position is based on Sargberg Plant near Otavi.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, install, configure and calibrate all instruments.
- Attend to instrumentation breakdowns
- Preparation and accomplishment of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on instrumentation equipment.
- Order spare parts in time for maintenance.
- Check and inspect new parts or instruments.
- Adhere to laid down standards and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Relevant engineering Diploma/Certificate in Electrical/Electronic/Control and Instrumentation engineering.
- At least 3 years experience of which 2 years must be in the industrial environment (mineral, factories, mining, heavy industry processes).
- Knowledge of Siemens S7 will be an added advantage.
- Read and interpret electrical/control and instrumentation schematics (SLD, P&I1D, specifications).
- Ability to work in a rapid paced environment to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must be computer literate.
- Excellent skills in communication and team-working, highly flexible and inter-cultural intelligence.
- Ability to organize own work, take initiative, good judgement and work extremely accurately.
- High level of stress tolerance, discipline and decisiveness.
- Fluency in English is a prerequisite.
