Vacancy – Senior Mine Planning Officer

The Mineral Resources Unit requires the services of a Senior Mine Planning Officer. The primary role of this position will be to produce long, medium, and short term mine plans and forecasts to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Key Performance Areas:

• Generating strategic business plans
• Project planning and optimization
• Life of mine plans
• Initiate and review policies, systems and procedures
• Development of junior staff

Key Competencies Required:

• Proficient in the use of all Microsoft products including MS Project and MS Access.
• Strong communication, presentation and project management skills.
• Strong leadership skills with high ethical standards.
• Be creative and motivated.
• Experience in the use of a computerized mine planning systems would be an advantage.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Surveying and / or equivalent.
• Five years experience in a mining related environment of which two years should be ideally in mine planning.
• Marine mining experience would be an added advantage.

Preference will be given to Namibian citizens and designated persons as prescribed by the Namibian Affirmative Action Act.
